About
We made the ads first. Then we built Turntake.
Turntake started as the machine behind the ads we make for SmartSolar, in Denmark, Sweden and Ireland. This is the plain version: where it comes from, how it got built, and what’s still to come.
Early access we set it up with you. Coming we’re building it.
Where we come from
It started with solar panels.
SmartSolar helps homeowners in Denmark, Sweden and Ireland compare quotes from installers, for solar panels, home batteries and, in Denmark, heat pumps. Most of it starts with a Meta ad and a short form. Making enough good ads for three markets, in three languages, is the job we needed a machine for.
How it got built
Since June 2026, ad by ad.

AI UGC
- June 2026
Editors first.
Our ads went to human editors as Final Cut Pro packages, with the talking head, b-roll, captions and zooms already in place.
- August 2026
The machine learns the cut.
We studied twenty timelines our editors delivered, wrote down what they did, and taught a renderer to do the same. From then on, the machine could cut a UGC ad from the package without an editor.
- August–September 2026
New formats.
Claymation, 3D animation, skeleton, crochet and drone explainers, with clip libraries that get reused ad after ad.
- October 2026
A memory that sticks.
Every approval, rule and lesson gets written down, so the next round starts where the last one stopped.
- October 2026
A name.
We called the tool Turntake, and opened the review app to our own team.
- October 2026
Beyond solar.

Why it matters
The repetitive edit, off your plate.
Editing is where the hours go. In Turntake you give notes the way you’d brief an editor: on a second, a word, a clip or a spot in the frame. The next take comes back. The repetitive part of the cut is the machine’s job.
The final take Coming
Editors still matter. They come in at the final take.
We’ve handed Final Cut Pro packages to editors since June 2026. Next, that becomes a button: the machine makes the takes, and your editor polishes the last one in the tool they already use.

How we work
House rules. For us too.
Only what we can back up.
No invented numbers, prices or quotes. What isn’t built yet says Coming. What we set up with you says Early access.
House rules on every cut.
Loudness, safe zones, caption lines, no frozen frames. Checked before anyone sees the take.
Lessons become rules.
What works, and what doesn’t, gets written into the playbooks the machine follows.
You press go.
We make the takes. You decide what goes live. Nothing is uploaded or switched on without you.
Who we are
Turntake is built by the people who make the ads for SmartSolar. We made the ads first, and built the tool when editing became the bottleneck.
